Job Summary
HVAC Technician sought to perform preventative and general maintenance, repair, and installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for life-sciences clients. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting safety procedures, wiring and piping HVAC systems, calibrating thermostats and controls, changing filters and parts as they wear, servicing boilers, maintaining chemical balances in equipment, running conduit, ordering supplies, and responding to emergencies. Must hold an Active Refrigeration Technician license in Puerto Rico and EPA license; requires strong technical reading skills, familiarity with reading schematics, cGMP awareness, safety compliance, and ability to work after hours or on weekends. Office locations include Caguas, PR; Boston, MA; and San Francisco, CA with on-site requirements. Bilingual Spanish/English capability is implied by the bilingual phrasing in some duties.
Required Qualifications
- Active Licensed Refrigeration Technician awarded by the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico
- EPA Licensed
- Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating
- Working knowledge of boiler systems
- Proficient in reading schematics and work plans
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice
- Ability to work in confined spaces
