Job Summary
HVAC Technician responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing heating and air conditioning systems across district facilities. Duties include diagnosing malfunctions, repairing/ calibrating controls (thermostats, switches), installing new systems and expanding existing ones, fabricating duct work and piping per code, performing preventive maintenance, changing filters, cleaning condensers and coils, conducting air quality testing, managing materials and records, completing work orders, and ensuring safety and customer-care standards while coordinating with energy managers and responding to emergency calls.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Clear and valid Texas driver's license
- Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- One year of experience in HVAC field
