Job Summary
Perform preventative and general maintenance on HVAC systems, including repairing motors, servicing steam boilers, and replacing worn parts. Install and maintain diverse heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems by laying out wires and pipes, ensuring all connections are secure, and calibrating thermostats. Respond to emergency situations to resolve issues immediately and determine whether components require repair or replacement. Order necessary supplies and equipment to ensure project availability, then reassemble and test equipment following repairs. Record all faults, deficiencies, and time expended on work orders while balancing system controls per manufacturer recommendations. Strictly follow company safety and cGMP policies, maintaining a clean work area and complying with all applicable standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent
- License required
- 3+ year experience as an HVAC technician
- willingness to continue education in HVAC field
- Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating
- Working knowledge of boiler systems
- Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in reading schematics and work plans
- Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
