Job Summary
HVAC Technician responsible for maintaining, repairing, or installing HVAC equipment while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal codes. Oversees quality and timeliness of HVAC tasks in consultation with the PO&M Manager; analyzes service requests to plan repair work and establish preventive maintenance schedules; maintains and improves preventive maintenance programs; collaborates with the Manager of PO&M on materials/specifications; conducts cost comparisons and manages procurement with supervision; assists in budgeting for materials and operational costs; assesses new equipment and establishes preventive maintenance protocols; participates in initiatives to meet Joint Commission standards and OSHA safety; supports an on-call schedule for HVAC/refrigeration issues; collaborates across departments to develop technical expertise and cross-trains maintenance staff; performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- HVAC certification is mandatory.
- A minimum of five (5) years of field experience required.
- HVAC: A minimum of five (5) years of field experience required.
- Knowledge and ability to perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and building drawings.
