HVAC Technician - Journeyman

Job Summary
The Journeyman HVAC service technician at Maxair serves as the primary customer contact to service and repair HVAC equipment on customer sites. Responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, emergency service, inspections, site surveys, and requested modifications; diagnosing issues, communicating findings and recommendations to customers and internal stakeholders; purchasing required materials; maintaining truck inventory; coordinating with the dispatcher and Area Leader for daily assignments; and working overtime as needed while upholding safety and company standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- EPA Certification for refrigerant handling, Type I and II
- 5+ years minimum as a Commercial HVAC technician
- Possess a clean driving record and a current driver's license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and participate in a drug free workplace
- OSHA 30 certification (preferred)
- Associates degree (preferred)
- Star certification (preferred)
- Local Union 72 membership as Apprentice, Tradesman, or Journeyman (or the qualifications, willingness and ability to join)
- Ability to work overtime and irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Proven safety record and adherence to safety standards
- EPA refrigerant handling certification
- Experience with various HVAC equipment (split systems, rooftop units, water source heat pumps, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret electronic paperwork and service reports
