Job Summary
HVAC Technician - Journeyman responsible for installation, preventative maintenance and repair of industrial and commercial HVAC systems (heating, air conditioning and ventilation) in concourses, terminals and facilities. Performs preventative maintenance on HVAC units, installation and corrective maintenance on pumps, valves and related equipment; monitors chillers and air handlers; completes work orders and maintenance records; on-call duties; requires a Kentucky Journeyman HVAC License, valid driver’s license, and CDL; five years of relevant experience; SIDA clearance; strong diagnostic and electrical wiring skills; proficient with computers for record-keeping and reporting; able to work with heavy equipment and in accordance with safety and environmental standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Five years commercial/industrial HVAC repair and maintenance experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Kentucky Journeyman HVAC License
- Valid Driver’s License
- Commercial Driver’s License – Class A or B (or ability to acquire Class B within 6 months)
- Security Identification Display Area (SIDA)
- Knowledge of pumps, pressure relief valves, soldering metals in tight spaces
- Skilled in interpreting wiring diagrams and installing/troubleshooting HVAC systems
- Experience with rooftop units, chillers, boilers, cooling towers
- Ability to read and maintain maintenance records and reports
- EPA refrigerant handling knowledge
- Strong communication and computer skills
