Job Summary
HVAC Technician III at Amentum in East Peoria, IL, responsible for maintaining the company’s buildings, facilities, and HVAC-related equipment. Duties include diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, refrigeration, pumps, fans, compressors, and related mechanical equipment. Conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC control and operating systems via CMMS, coordinate with outside contractors, ensure code and building standards are met, and enforce safety guidelines (JO hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, PPE). Requires strong mechanical/electrical skills, adherence to safety policies, and ability to work overtime or weekends as needed. Training and experience with electrical/plumbing/welding tasks and the ability to perform various maintenance activities across mechanical systems are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent
- 3 years of experience in area of specialization
- EPA 608 Universal Certificate
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must be able to work out of an aerial lift 30ft or higher
- Pre-employment substance abuse test
- This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization
- Ability to obtain a security access badge
- May require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules
