Job Summary
HVAC Technician at EMI Services (Camp Lejeune) performs maintenance, repair, replacement, and modernization of commercial HVAC systems to achieve regulated climatic conditions. Responsibilities include working on split package, residential-style, light commercial units, mini-splits, VAVs and AHUs; using a multimeter to check voltage; brazing with a torch; preparing work orders and material estimates; and potentially training lower-level workers. Essential skills include working independently, reading schematic diagrams, understanding the refrigeration cycle and troubleshooting mechanical issues, and practicing workplace safety with PPE. The role requires EPA Type II Refrigeration License (EPA Universal preferred), high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years of related experience, and eligibility for access to military installations. Overtime, nights, and weekends are required; the position is non-travel and located on Camp Lejeune and surrounding installations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in maintenance, repair, installation, and operation of commercial heating, ventilation, refrigeration and air conditioning systems
- EPA Type II Refrigeration License
- HVAC course or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license (REAL ID Act compliant or willing to obtain)
- Pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Regular, dependable attendance
- U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations
