Job Summary
Install, troubleshoot, and repair air conditioning, heating, and related equipment at assigned facilities. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, including overhauling units, adjusting valves and piping, and replacing worn components. Respond to routine and on-demand service requests while conducting facility walkthroughs and monitoring mechanical systems to ensure uptime and safety. Comply with all internal and external requirements regarding environmental, health, and fire protection standards. Maintain accurate tool inventory and submit expenditures timely. Must hold a valid province-issued HVAC Certificate of Qualification, Gasfitter I & II license, and refrigeration license. Available for on-call rotation and emergency call-outs.
Required Qualifications
- College Diploma/Certification
- Previous experience as a licensed HVAC/Refrigeration Technician
- Strong ability to adhere and to properly execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance
- Ability to maintain building mechanical and other system troubleshooting and resolution skills
- Possesses a strong environmental, health and safety mindset
- Ability to perform work in a safe manner
- Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency
- Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification
- Must be available for on-call/standby and emergency call-outs as they arise
- Must be willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment
- Must meet enhanced security clearance requirements
- Valid drivers' license
- Must hold a valid HVAC Certificate of Qualification issued by the province in which the work is performed
Desired Qualifications
- Gasfitter I & II license in addition to refrigeration license, an asset
