Job Summary

Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC systems, and oil-free air compressors at the Baltimore service center or customer sites. Troubleshoot equipment failures in the shop and on location, operating equipment independently or with a team to set up and run systems based on customer requirements. Calculate tonnage and kW requirements while reading schematics, and obtain or maintain a TWIC card or DOT medical card as needed. Full-time role with potential overtime and weekends, earning $35.00 to $45.00 hourly. Requires a high school diploma, four years of relevant experience, and a valid driver's license.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED
  • 4+ years of experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs
  • Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics
  • Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs
  • Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
  • Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
  • Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level
  • Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders
  • Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
