Job Summary

Service and repair all HVAC equipment including heat pumps, variable air volume boxes, air handling units, roof top units, condensers, cooling towers, pumps, chillers, boilers, heat exchangers, water heaters, water coolers, water treatment equipment, coolers, and freezers. Monitor HVAC systems and equipment using the computerized building automation system to ensure guest comfort and efficient operation. Perform preventive maintenance, including inspections, adjustments, filter replacements, coil cleaning, and unit lubrication. Respond to and complete maintenance and repair requests in a timely, safe, and accurate manner. Order, receive, stock, and maintain the HVAC parts inventory while ensuring tools are in proper working condition. Respond to emergency calls after-hours for HVAC systems on a rotating on-call schedule. Provide assistance to other facilities technicians with servicing ice makers, walk-in coolers, freezers, refrigerators, and other related equipment. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment and storage area in full compliance with OSHA requirements and company safety policies.

Required Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of HVAC experience
  • Completed degree from an accredited institution that is above the minimum education requirement (can substitute for experience on a year for year basis)
  • Must possess and maintain valid certification for handling refrigerants
  • Must be able to obtain certification within 90 days of employment
  • Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to the trade
  • Office skills including the ability to use standard office equipment and general computer knowledge
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • The ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information
  • The ability to interact with guests and team member's professionally
  • The ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and up to 100 pounds occasionally, with assistance
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to operate a personal computer
  • Must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing job duties
  • Must be able to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move freely throughout the office and property for duration of scheduled shift

Desired Qualifications

  • Formal training or completion of an apprenticeship in HVAC and/or Refrigeration trades
  • Experience with HVAC devices such as variable air volume boxes, air and water-cooled chillers and related systems
  • Experience with building automation systems, preferably Niagara AX Framework and/or Trane Tracer Summit
  • Experience with Energy Wheel Recovery technology
  • Preferably Universal Certification for handling refrigerants
