HVAC Startup Technician

Job Summary
Inspect newly installed HVAC equipment on commercial and industrial projects by reviewing submittals, verifying prerequisites, and ensuring compliance with manufacturer requirements and contract documents. Perform startup of systems including AHUs, RTUs, chillers, and VRF units, followed by functional testing, data recording, and troubleshooting deficiencies. Coordinate with project teams, TAB agencies, and manufacturers to resolve issues, complete documentation logs, and support project closeout while adhering to OSHA, EPA, and safety regulations. Travel between sites as required to verify system performance prior to owner turnover.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- EPA Section 608 Universal Certification
- OSHA 10 minimum
- Valid Driver's License
- Minimum 5 years commercial or industrial HVAC experience
- Lift up to 75 pounds
- Work on rooftops, in mechanical rooms, confined spaces, and outdoors
- Frequent climbing, kneeling, bending, and standing
- Travel between project sites as required
- Wear required PPE
Desired Qualifications
- OSHA 30 preferred
- Manufacturer certifications preferred
- Startup or commissioning experience preferred
- Strong electrical troubleshooting background
- Experience with BAS controls and VFDs preferred
