Job Summary
HVAC Start-Up/Commissioning Technician responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial and industrial HVAC systems. Perform system start-ups, commissioning and performance testing to ensure proper operation; diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC/R equipment including chillers, rooftop units, cooling towers, boilers, pumps, and related controls. Conduct preventive maintenance, monitor building automation to optimize performance, and respond to emergency service calls while maintaining detailed service records and clear customer communication.
Required Qualifications
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or HVAC trade school preferred
- 3+ years of hands-on HVAC service experience (commercial/industrial preferred)
- Strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems, controls, and equipment troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
- Strong written and verbal communication; able to interact effectively with clients and coworkers
