HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic

Job Summary
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and product specifications to determine fabrication and installation methods for sheet metal components. Lay out dimensions and reference lines on material to trace patterns, then operate fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, and routers to cut, bend, and form materials. Train apprentices on on-the-job requirements while communicating clearly with supervisors and coordinating with other trades on the job site. Maintain current trade licenses and certifications, adhere to all safety policies and PPE usage, and interact professionally with clients. Requires Connecticut Sheet Metal 2 License, 5 years commercial HVAC experience, and a valid driver's license. Located in New London, CT.
Required Qualifications
- Connecticut Sheet Metal 2 License
- 5 years of required experience with commercial HVAC systems
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent written skills
- Must be able to lift and/or move various weight ranges such as 0-50 lbs. frequently, 51-100 lbs. occasionally and 101 plus seldom
- Must be able to climb or balance
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must be able to walk
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- Must be able to talk
- Must be able to hear
- Must be able to smell
- Must have close vision
