Job Summary
Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair commercial HVAC sheet metal systems including ductwork, control boxes, drainpipes, and equipment components. Install air terminal units, rooftop units, and split systems while reading blueprints and shop drawings under guidance. Measure, cut, and assemble sheet metal using hand and power tools in accordance with SMACNA standards. Maintain clean work areas, follow OSHA regulations, and collaborate with mechanics, foremen, and project managers. Work minimum 40 hours per week with overtime as schedules require. Valid driver's license, ability to travel overnight, and physical ability to lift 75 pounds are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of commercial HVAC sheet metal experience or equivalent trade school/apprenticeship experience
- Basic understanding of commercial sheet metal fabrication and installation practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic measurements
- Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week with overtime as project schedules require
- Reliable transportation to assigned job sites
- Dependable, professional, and safety-minded approach to work
- Strong desire to learn and advance within the sheet metal trade
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Physical ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, lift, and carry materials weighing up to 75 pounds
- Possession of appropriate hand tools
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driver qualification policies
- Ability to pass a background check, drug test, and pre-employment fitness test in accordance with company policies
- Punctual and regular attendance
- Ability to travel to job sites and occasionally stay overnight when required
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with SMACNA installation standards preferred
- Experience using power tools preferred
