Job Summary
HVAC Service Technician role in Raleigh, NC operating as a temp-to-hire position. Responsibilities include installing heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment; demonstrating technical competency and completing jobs efficiently; completing service documentation and communicating guarantees/warranties; building trust with customers to promote referrals; maintaining organized job sites and truck inventory. Requires minimum five years of experience with troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing residential and light commercial HVAC systems (including heat pumps, gas furnaces, mini-splits, dual-fuel, zone systems); high school diploma or equivalent; EPA and NATE certifications; valid NC driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays; ability to supervise entry-level staff; strong verbal/written communication and customer service skills; familiarity with duct installation, gas/refrigeration piping, and code knowledge; OSHA knowledge is a plus. Salary range $25.00-$35.00 per hour; shift Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM. Pre-employment drug screening and background checks required; E-Verify participation. Equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- EPA certification
- NATE certification
- Valid NC driver''s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Minimum five (5) years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing residential and light commercial HVAC systems
- Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, and people skills
- Comfortable installing round and rectangular duct
- Proficient in installing gas and refrigeration pipe
- Proficient understanding of refrigerant, gas, and electric furnaces, heat pumps, troubleshooting and installing all residential and light commercial systems
- Ability to supervise entry-level employees
- OSHA certifications are a plus
- Understand and apply all relevant codes
- Able to measure duct work and install equipment accessories
