Job Summary

Install and maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and boiler systems by performing routine repairs, inspecting for malfunctions, and adjusting controls to manufacturer recommendations. Monitor, evaluate, and troubleshoot operating equipment to ensure safe operation and life cycle performance while discussing system issues with customers to isolate problems. Install auxiliary components, assemble duct work, and connect piping circuits following blueprints and design specifications. Record faults, generate work orders, and coordinate with repair teams as needed. This role operates in both office and field environments, requiring physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work with various tools and machinery.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of documentable HVAC level operation, maintenance and repair experience in the HVAC and refrigeration trade
  • Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits, wiring and operating principles of motors
  • Knowledge of local electrical codes
  • Ability to communicate with internal team and customers
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material
  • Ability to perform math
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
  • Ability to physically operate a variety of machinery and equipment including electronic and diagnostic tools, recovery equipment, hand and power tools, and various other HVAC equipment
  • Ability to stoop, kneeling, crouching, climbing, crawling, reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, and moving or carrying objects or materials
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
  • Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
