Job Summary
A Chiller Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial and industrial chiller systems and associated equipment. Key responsibilities include performing maintenance and repairs on chiller types and refrigeration units, troubleshooting issues with refrigeration circuits and mechanical components, and conducting system performance tests. Successful candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, at least 3-5 years in HVAC focusing on chiller systems, and strong technical expertise in diagnosing and repairing HVAC equipment. Compliance with safety and environmental regulations is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an electrical apprenticeship (8,000 hours)
- Minimum of 3-5 years as an HVAC technician
- Ability to effectively communicate in the English language
Desired Qualifications
- Technical or trade school certification in HVAC
- State HVAC or refrigeration licenses
- Manufacturer-specific training
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification
