Job Summary
Commercial HVAC Technician responsible for startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and ongoing service of commercial and industrial HVAC systems; perform equipment start-up and commissioning, preventive maintenance, and diagnose issues such as electrical faults or refrigerant leaks; verify control systems and safety devices, coordinate with project managers and installation teams, document service work and communicate performance improvements to customers; travel up to ~15% within the greater Portland area with reimbursed business travel expenses; must have EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification, read wiring diagrams, and possess a valid driver’s license; role emphasizes on-site service, safety, and energy-efficiency practices.
Required Qualifications
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required
- 4+ years of commercial HVAC service or maintenance experience
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and post-installation troubleshooting
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer specifications
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to work in diverse environments (rooftops, mechanical rooms, outdoor conditions)
- EP Universal (EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification)
- Nice to have 06A license /LEB (Limited Energy/ Electrical Basic)
