Job Summary

Diagnose HVAC system performance through observation, testing, and setup for commercial and residential equipment. Operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment to perform disassembly, reassembly, and troubleshooting for planned maintenance. Complete service contracts, quoted projects, and demand service calls while maintaining profitability and developing long-term customer relationships. Participate in technician on-call-stand-by rotation and safely drive a motor vehicle and trailer. Purchase materials, issue purchase orders, and maintain equipment, tools, and inventory stock on the service vehicle. Requires 10+ years of HVAC experience, Universal EPA certification, and proficiency in split systems, VRF/VRV, and air-cooled chillers. 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday with on-call availability and weekends as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10+ years of relevant HVAC Service Tech experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must possess required registrations, professional licenses and/or certifications as required by the position
  • Universal EPA Certified
  • Proficient in the electrical diagnostics of HVAC equipment
  • Proficiently operates hand tools, power tools, gauges and measuring equipment
  • Safely drives a motor vehicle and trailer as evidenced by past driving performance record
  • HVAC Unitary: Split systems, VRF/VRV, Roof Top packaged systems, Self-contained systems water-cooled and air-cooled, CRAC units – Liebert/Data Aire/Stultz
  • Proficient in air cooled chiller service and repair
  • HVAC Airside skills Fan Powered Box, and VAV. VFD
  • Air Handler: Theory of AHU operation and Theory of control valve operation
  • Exhaust fans: Centrifugal Up blast Roof Fans and Centrifugal Inline Fan
  • Cooling Tower: Ability to perform maintenance on cooling towers
  • 8-hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • On call
  • Weekends as needed
  • Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week

Desired Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree in related field
