HVAC Service Technician

Job Summary
Diagnose equipment breakdowns on rooftop HVAC units, heat pumps, and DX systems; disassemble and assemble parts to make necessary repairs. Perform preventive maintenance and inspections per maintenance agreements while managing budget objectives. Obtain directives from the Service Coordinator to schedule inspections based on location, man-hour requirements, and priorities. Maintain strict adherence to safety rules, company policies, and documentation protocols including time records and refrigerant accountability logs. Keep the Service Coordinator informed of whereabouts and attend periodic supervisor meetings. Possess EPA CFC certification and knowledge of BOCA Code and OSHA regulations. 5+ years of HVAC servicing experience required.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of HVAC system servicing, installing, troubleshooting and repair
- High school diploma or GED
- Working knowledge of the HVAC service industry
- Working knowledge of federal, state and city regulations and guidelines
- Ability to work with and understanding of the refrigeration cycle
- Knowledge of current BOCA Code and OSHA safety regulations
- Ability to coordinate and perform multiple activities in a timely manner
- Ability to maintain a sense of urgency, but remain calm, when handling emergencies
- EPA approved CFC Certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e., Outlook, Word and Excel)
