HVAC Service Controls Technician

Job Summary
Start and commission new environmental-control systems, then diagnose and repair equipment at customer locations using knowledge of electronics, direct digital control, and refrigeration theory. Coordinate with team leaders to forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site installation and repairs while maintaining the highest safety standards. Keep current on Trane products regarding installation, operation, and maintenance of direct digital control systems, and ensure accountability of company assets by recording their use and conditions. Maintain flexibility to work overtime, work weeks as required, and occasionally stay overnight to meet business demands.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months
- No major or frequent traffic violations in the previous 3 years
- At least 3-5 years of experience in HVAC/Controls
- Programming experience
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software
- Working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)
- EPA certification (preferred but treated as required per schema instruction to keep all items from the 'What you will bring' section)
- Ability to work overtime and weeks as the business requires
- Ability to make occasional overnight stays
- Pass additional drug screening (Safety Sensitive Role requirement)
Desired Qualifications
- Technical School or formal training
- Niagara experience
- Previous experience with DDC controls system
