Entry-level HVAC Safety Technician to support the HVAC Department; focuses on life-safety components in HVAC systems, and ensures compliance with OSHA regulations and building codes. Responsibilities include overseeing lockout/tagout procedures for energized electrical systems and enforcing PPE usage; monitor safe handling, recovery, and disposal of hazardous refrigerants per EPA standards; inspect ventilation in environments with flammable gases and dust; identify hazards and enforce safety regarding high-voltage electricity and refrigerants; investigate on-site accidents or equipment failures, document causes, and implement corrective actions; provide HVAC team training on hazardous material handling, confined space work, and ladder safety; order and maintain parts needed to repair and maintain HVAC equipment; perform duties while wearing PPE; physical requirements include full mobility and ability to work in various positions; requires OSHA 10 certification or willingness to attend company-provided training.
