Job Summary
HVAC Refrigeration Mechanic at Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Physical Plant Services. Responsibilities include installation, repairs, and maintenance of HVAC systems and refrigeration units across campus; diagnose electrical and mechanical faults; perform cleaning, adjusting, and repair of HVAC systems. Requires a valid driver’s license and EPA 608 Type IV Universal certification (with up to 30 days to acquire if needed). Minimum of two years’ experience in installation/maintenance of HVAC systems.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of experience or training in the installation and/or maintenance of heating, ventilating, or air conditioning systems
- Valid driver’s license
- EPA refrigerant recycling and recovery certification (Section 608)
- Type IV, Universal Certification
- Ability to acquire the required certification within 30 days of selection
