Job Summary
Monitor and repair commercial refrigeration, kitchen equipment, and HVAC/R systems using gauges, instruments, and welding tools. Test lines and components for leaks, braze defective joints, and dismantle malfunctioning systems to replace worn mechanisms. Read wiring schematics to identify parts, perform mechanical overhauls, and charge systems with proper refrigerant. Order, deliver, and install materials while fabricating structural components and mounting compressors. Troubleshoot motor controls, PLC problems, and pneumatic circuits, then keep records of repairs and communicate progress to customers. Maintain equipment through preventative services and comply with all safety regulations.
Required Qualifications
- One year certificate from college or technical school
- Three to five years related experience
- Type 1-2 or Universal Refrigeration Certificate
- Valid driver's license
- Appropriate motor vehicle record
- 1-2 years of refrigeration/HVAC/Kitchen equipment experience
- Working knowledge of refrigeration equipment, tools, and refrigerants
- Working knowledge of silver solder tools
- Working knowledge of normal shop equipment and hand tools
- Working knowledge of all electrical phases and voltage
- Highly motivated
- Ability to work independently
