HVAC Punchout Mechanic

Job Summary
Punchout/commissioning role inspecting, testing, and troubleshooting HVAC installations at residential project sites to verify compliance with design specifications and quality standards. Collaborates with foremen and other trades to coordinate punchout activities and ensure timely project handover. Ensures HVAC systems meet regulatory requirements and client expectations. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 2–3 years of hands-on HVAC experience, and proficiency with HVAC tools. Preferred EPA Section 608 certification; BAS/HVAC controls experience; OSHA familiarity; prior punchout/commissioning experience; NATE certifications are advantageous.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of vocational school and/or apprenticeship preferred
- Minimum of 2 or 3 years of hands-on experience in HVAC installation and repairs
- Use all types of HVAC tools
- Identifying problems in non-working systems & duct work and accurately detect and repair the problem
Desired Qualifications
- EPA Section 608 Certification
- NATE (advantageous)
- BAS experience
- OSHA familiarity
- HVAC controls experience
