Job Summary
Project Technician role focused on executing HVAC projects for commercial clients, ranging from unit replacements to full system redesigns. Requires 5+ years of commercial HVAC service/project experience, knowledge of HVAC equipment and installation practices, and ability to read submittals, drawings, and electrical schematics. Responsibilities include planning, installation, start-up, coordination with subcontractors, safety compliance (JSAs), maintaining schedule and budget, documenting daily work, and communicating with customers. Must have a Universal EPA license, valid driver’s license, pass criminal checks and random drug testing, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Pay range is $38–$48 per hour, with benefits and overtime expectations described; standard workweek is Monday–Friday with occasional on-call. Location: Colorado Springs, CO. Required Qualifications
- Must possess a Universal EPA license
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record as required by the company’s insurance provider
- Must be able to pass a criminal check pre-employment drug test, along with ongoing random drug testing
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Commercial HVAC service and project work
- Knowledge of HVAC equipment and full system installation practices
- Understanding and overall knowledge of the commercial and Industrial HVAC industry
- Experience in sheet metal, piping, Brazing, Soldering Pipe, electrical installation, and modifications
- Experience working with crane picks and rigging
- Ability to evacuate, test, charge with refrigerant, and start up new HVAC equipment
- Ability to perform system start-ups and troubleshooting of new HVAC equipment and systems
- Experience with system layout and design build processes
- Ability to read and interpret equipment submittals, MEP drawings, electrical schematics, Blueprints and equipment sequence of operation as needed
- Ability to read tape measure, monometers, multimeters, pressure gauges and other industry related tools and test equipment
- Capable of using power tools such as saws, grinders, drills, sheet metal and pipe fitting tools along with basic hand tools
- Teamwork is a priority, must be willing to work with and assist co-workers as needed, in addition to working some overtime, night and weekend hours
