Job Summary
HVAC Mechanical Service Technician Serviceman (Union) provides preventive and corrective maintenance on facility equipment and systems, with a focus on HVAC, building automation, and related building systems. Responsibilities include responding to work orders and service requests across a site network (Greater Toronto Area as referenced by the description), troubleshooting and repairing equipment, maintaining accurate logs and documentation, coordinating with site-based facility teams and subcontractors, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The role requires independent work, strong communication, BAS/Metasys familiarity, and willingness to work flexible shifts. Preference given to candidates with healthcare facility experience and Metasys knowledge. The position is within Johnson Controls and supported by union pay structures, with an emphasis on facility uptime and client satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- More than 3 years of facility maintenance experience in hospital, university, food, manufacturing, or other commercial/industrial environments
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- English language proficiency (verbal and written)
- Willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Clean driving record and ability to comply with company vehicle policies
- Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and Metasys is an asset
- Strong customer-service orientation and teamwork
- Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC and related building systems
- Experience with electrical, plumbing, and general carpentry as needed
- Ability to work flexible shifts, on-call/standby, and overtime as required
