Job Summary

Operate, maintain, repair, test, record readings, and monitor all boilers, chillers, heating, air conditioning equipment, and ventilation support systems. Make connections, adjustments, and repairs as necessary to ensure environmental control systems function properly for patients, staff, and visitors. Evaluate problems to determine seriousness, correct issues, or report to the engineering supervisor. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance using current professional standards and provide legible written and electronic documentation according to established Engineering procedures. Submit material requisitions for equipment repair or replacement and accurately document tasks using the computerized maintenance management system. Cooperate with other departments, work independently in a safe manner, and comply with local, state, and national code compliance. Be a member of the security alert and disaster response teams as required. "On Call" rotation may be required.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate (G.E.D.)
  • Minimum of four (4) years' experience through on the job training in firing low and/or high-pressure boilers
  • Minimum of four (4) years' experience with industrial air conditioning heating systems
  • Universal Refrigerant Certification (EPA)
  • Valid PA or NJ Driver's License accepted by the Network insurance carrier
  • Good driving record
  • Competence to work on Building Automatic Systems and other related HVAC control systems
  • Must obey and adhere to all motor vehicle regulations and law while operating hospital vehicles
  • Ability to stand for up to eight (8) hours per day
  • Ability to walk for up to four (4) hours per day
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of up to two (2) hours
  • Ability to lift loads of up to 60 lbs
  • Ability to push loads of up to 300 lbs
  • Normal vision as it relates to normal vision
  • Normal hearing as it relates to normal hearing
  • Ability to bend, crouching, reaching, twisting, climbing (stairs and ladders)
  • Manual dexterity to make equipment repairs
  • Ability to use hand, power, and technical related tools and test equipment
