Job Summary
Operate, maintain, repair, test, and monitor all boilers, chillers, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment to ensure proper environmental control for patients and staff. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs on assigned systems, making necessary adjustments and connections while documenting work via computerized maintenance management systems. Evaluate environmental problems, remediate issues, and submit material requisitions for equipment replacement in accordance with established Engineering procedures. Maintain compliance with local, state, and national code standards, report violations to management, and participate in security alert and disaster response teams as required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent certificate (G.E.D.)
- Minimum of four (4) years' experience through on the job training in firing low and/or high-pressure boilers
- Minimum of four (4) years' experience with industrial air conditioning heating systems
- Universal Refrigerant Certification (EPA)
- Valid PA or NJ Driver's License accepted by the Network insurance carrier
- Good driving record
- Competence to work on Building Automatic Systems and other related HVAC control systems
- Must obey and adhere to all motor vehicle regulations and law while operating hospital vehicles
- Ability to stand for up to eight (8) hours per day
- Ability to walk for up to four (4) hours per day
- Ability to sit for extended periods of up to two (2) hours
- Ability to lift loads of up to 60 lbs
- Ability to push loads of up to 300 lbs
- Normal vision as it relates to normal vision
- Normal hearing as it relates to normal hearing
- Manual dexterity to make equipment repairs
- Ability to climb (stairs and ladders)
- Ability to bend, crouching, reaching, twisting
- Ability to use hand, power, and technical related tools and test equipment
- Ability to comply with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code
- Ability to remain composed in stressful situations
- Ability to be a member of the security alert and disaster response teams
- Ability to perform work in accordance with local, state, and national code compliance
