Job Summary
HVAC Mechanic, Level III responsible for independently performing routine preventive and predictive maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and complex repairs on a broad range of HVAC/R systems. Requires advanced knowledge of mechanical and controls systems (pneumatic and DDC controls) and proficiency with VRF, hydronic, VAV, constant volume, VFD, CRAC, and DX equipment. Works primarily with DX equipment components (electrical, refrigeration, gas systems, VAV/mixing boxes, fan boxes, pumps); conducts startup and commissioning of complex HVAC equipment; analyzes and diagnoses mechanical/electrical components; provides technical support, mentorship to Levels I & II, and documents service records; adheres to all safety protocols and identifies predictive failures for quotes.
Required Qualifications
- HVAC vocational, job related experience and/or trade certificate
- >5 years HVAC experience plus two years demonstrated troubleshooting experience
- Certifications: Universal CFC Certification
- AA preferred (or applicable experience in lieu of)
- Proficient with VRF, hydronic and DDC controls systems
- Experience in Chillers, boilers furnaces, HVAC/R, cooling towers, controls, CRAC units, BMS, VAV systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer specifications
- Safety protocols compliance
- Ability to mentor Level I & Level II HVAC Mechanics
