Job Summary
Maintain and repair all HVAC equipment including heating systems, pumps, fan coil units, VAV systems, and air distribution equipment while performing electrical, plumbing, and mechanical troubleshooting. Monitor and adjust mechanical controls, gauges, valves, and thermostats to maintain optimal building comfort, execute preventive maintenance tasks like filter changes and coil cleaning, and conduct routine inspections of equipment rooms and fire pumps. Complete general building repairs, perform fire and life safety inspections per NFPA standards, and respond immediately to emergency situations. Manage Corrigo work orders, coordinate vendors, and document all activities for supervisor review. This role requires a valid Connecticut D-2 or D-1 HVAC license, 5+ years of experience, and the ability to work independently on-site in Stamford, CT.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Connecticut D-2 or D-1 HVAC license
- Minimum 5+ years of experience operating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting
- Valid driver's license with good driving record
- Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Proven experience with HVAC systems, condensing boilers, heaters, pumps, refrigerant systems, compressors, water systems, and RTUs
- Thorough knowledge of building systems operations, maintenance, and repair
- Physical ability to lift minimum 50 lbs., climb ladders, stoop, stand, crouch, and reach regularly
- Ability to work independently as sole maintenance staff member during assigned shifts
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of energy management systems, techniques, and operations
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Familiarity with JLL standards and commercial property protocols
- Strong initiative, flexibility, and multi-tasking capabilities
