Job Summary
Entry-level HVAC Mechanic I performing installation, maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, evaporative cooling and air conditioning systems under supervision. Duties include inspecting equipment, installing valves, thermostats, and duct components, insulating piping, repairing duct work, maintaining and repairing HVAC components, operating district vehicles to job sites, and adhering to safety laws, policies, and procedures. Requires basic knowledge of HVAC methods and tools, ability to learn to perform HVAC tasks, and ability to work independently in absence of supervision.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Some verifiable HVAC experience
- HVAC diploma, certificate or equivalent preferred
- HVAC system monitoring and controls experience, as well as PC skills preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
