Job Summary
Monitor and repair air conditioning, heating, steam, and plumbing systems across all mechanical rooms, including oxygen and nitrous oxide piping. Perform daily rounds to log equipment status, troubleshoot electrical controls, and execute plumbing installations or drain line repairs. Respond to elevator emergencies and handle snow/ice removal as requested. Complete daily time reports and adhere to safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Work in extreme temperatures, noisy, and dusty conditions with potential exposure to contaminants. Requires trade school graduation in HVAC or plumbing and at least one year of experience.
Required Qualifications
- Preferably, a minimum of one year experience
- Ability to select and use tools and equipment appropriate to the task required
- Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position
- Good interpersonal skills
- Must work in extreme temperatures
- Noisy, dusty, dirty conditions
- Potential of exposure to various contaminants
- Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking
- Pushes, pulls or moves/lifts heavy equipment/supplies
- Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
Desired Qualifications
- Trade school (HVAC or plumbing courses) graduate is preferred
