Job Summary
Perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and programming of Building Automation Systems and commercial HVACR equipment. Troubleshoot DDC, BAS, and VFD sensors while executing corrective and preventative maintenance within assigned timeframes. Read schematics to diagnose electrical components and fabricate items using hand and power tools. Maintain general cleanliness of assigned spaces and workshop. Coordinate with staff to meet project deadlines and complete required paperwork including time sheets and parts orders. Work first shift 6AM-2:30PM or 8AM-4:30PM in indoor and outdoor environments, adhering to OSHA safety rules and LOTO protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman HVAC licensed or higher with EPA certification
- Universal Certification CFC/ESCO or Institute Certification for HVAC or related Accredited Certification
- Valid Driver's License
- 3 years' experience in a healthcare or similar regulated industrial setting as a HVAC Mechanic with primary assignment to operate and manage BAS, DDC, and HVACR systems
- Completion of Mechanical Evaluation Certification for Hospital (MECH)
- Completion of an accredited Apprenticeship related program
- Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, TJC, OSHA, Local, State and Federal Codes
- All appropriate safety practices for working with hand and power tools
- BAS, DDC, Electrical, Plumbing, HVACR, safe operation and repairs
- OSHA safety rules, AHA (Activity Hazard Analysis), LOTO (lockout-tag out)
- Safely perform tasks noted in essential duties
- Coordinate and work with other staff members to achieve project deadlines
- Read and comprehend operations and maintenance manuals, schematics, blueprints, and shop drawings
- Clear verbal and written communications
- Ability to troubleshoot systems using electronics, metering devices, bolometer, computers, and software systems
- Solely identify and resolve failures/alarms related to critical building equipment
- Fabricate items, using hand and power tools
- Accurately determine time and materials required for a job
- Attendance is required to be successful in the position
- First shift 6AM- 2:30PM or 8:00 AM- 4:30
- Required to wear protective clothing and devices when working with hazardous chemicals
- Must be physically able to work on ladders, scaffolds, platforms, roofs and in cramped equipment rooms and other confined spaces
- Ability to push 50 pounds (maintenance equipment); ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds (supplies and equipment)
- Possible exposure to hazardous materials, requiring use of respirators and personal protective safety attire and equipment
- May require entering confined spaces such as ductwork, pits, and crawl spaces
- We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform pre-employment substance abuse testing
