Job Summary
Lead Installation Technician responsible for complete and satisfactory installation of residential HVAC equipment and accessories, overseeing the Assistant Installation Technician, communicating with customers to provide suitable comfort solutions, answering questions, resolving problems, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include installing heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment; designing, fabricating, and installing ducts and fittings; performing start-ups; maintaining safety and quality; managing equipment delivery/return; keeping organized job notes; training apprentices on system setup, thermostat programming, IAQ product installation, duct work, gas line and wiring tasks; reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical, refrigerant, and duct systems; and upholding company standards while supporting dispatch communications. Qualifications emphasize EPA/NATE certifications, valid driver’s license, clean driving record, ability to pass background/drug tests, and strong customer-service skills, with emphasis on leadership and training of junior technicians.
