HVAC Journeyperson Technician

Job Summary
Perform routine predictive planned maintenance, assemble and install refrigeration and air conditioning components, and install, troubleshoot, and overhaul entire HVAC systems. Test systems for leaks, repair and replace components, read blueprints, and respond to environment/comfort complaints. Start up and shut down major building equipment seasonally, handle and store refrigerants, and test electronic components. Maintain a valid 313A refrigeration certificate, G1 certification, and ODP certificate with three years of journeyman experience. Work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays under the 787 Union Agreement schedule. Join the local 787 Refrigeration and Air Conditioning UA.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a valid 313A refrigeration certificate.
- 3 or more years' experience as a Journeyman HVAC Technician.
- Valid G1 Certification.
- Valid Ozone Depletion Prevention Certificate (ODP).
- Valid 'G' Driver's license.
- Experience with BAS systems.
- Ability to read and work from Mechanical / Electrical drawings, HVAC/R schematics, line drawings, etc.
- Available and willing to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays as required.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and work on a ladder or scaffold at various heights.
Desired Qualifications
- Oil Burner Technician Certificate would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of a variety of electronic, pneumatic and DDC control systems considered an asset.
