Job Summary
Install air conditioning, heating, and related equipment; overhaul, service, repair, and replace worn parts, valves, piping, and components. Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with heating and air conditioning units, motors, thermostats, and humidistats. Perform regular monitoring, facility walkthroughs, and preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure uptime and safety objectives. Respond to routine and on-demand service requests while complying with environmental, health, safety, and fire protection requirements. Maintain accurate tool inventory and submit expenditures on a timely basis. Submit all expenditures on a timely basis. Must hold a valid HVAC Certificate of Qualification and Gasfitter I & II license. Must be available for on-call/standby and emergency call-outs. Salary range $54,185 - $67,732 per annum.
Required Qualifications
- College Diploma/Certification
- Previous experience as a licensed HVAC/Refrigeration Technician
- Strong ability to adhere and to properly execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance
- Ability to maintain building mechanical and other system troubleshooting and resolution skills
- Possesses a strong environmental, health and safety mindset
- Ability to perform work in a safe manner
- Strong client-service orientation
- High sense of urgency
- Effective communication skills
- Availability for on-call/standby and emergency call-outs
- Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment
- Meeting enhanced security clearance requirements
- Valid drivers' license
- Must hold a valid HVAC Certificate of Qualification issued by the province in which the work is performed
- Gasfitter I & II license
Desired Qualifications
- Gasfitter I & II license in addition to refrigeration license, an asset
