Job Summary
HVAC Journeyman sought to install, start up, commission, service, and repair commercial/industrial HVAC systems across the Kansas City Metro KS/MO area. Responsibilities include installing rooftop units, split systems, chillers, boilers, air handlers, and controls; reading blueprints and wiring diagrams; performing preventive maintenance; diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues; refrigerant handling under EPA 608; electrical troubleshooting; reading BAS/DDC controls; documenting service tickets; maintaining safety standards per OSHA and company protocols; and providing professional customer interactions. Required qualifications include journey-level HVAC certification or apprenticeship (4–5 years), 4+ years of relevant experience, EPA 608 certification, ability to troubleshoot and repair complex HVAC systems, blueprints/wiring diagrams literacy, electrical skills, strong customer service, HS diploma or GED, tools and diagnostic equipment proficiency, ability to pass pre-employment drug screen, valid driver’s license, MVR check, and 18+ years of age. Preferred qualifications include BAS/DDC experience, commercial refrigeration/chiller experience, NATE certification, and OSHA certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Journey-level HVAC certification or completion of a recognized HVAC apprenticeship program (4–5 years)
- Minimum 4+ years of hands-on journey-level experience in commercial HVAC service, installation, or maintenance
- EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant Certification
- Proficiency reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting, brazing, and soldering
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be able to satisfactorily pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must be able to satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) check and meet company qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
