Job Summary
Manage the residential HVAC Installation department end-to-end, driving crew efficiency, quality control, and gross margins while maintaining accounts receivable below 5% of monthly revenue. Lead daily huddles, conduct weekly technician work-alongs and post-install inspections, and perform monthly one-on-ones to set clear expectations and accountability. Own all safety training, approve department invoices, monitor material and payroll expenses, and resolve client satisfaction issues same-day. Partner with branch leadership on budgeting, staffing planning, and hiring, while leading team development through coaching, discipline, and terminations. Requires occasional field work, climbing, and lifting up to 10 pounds, with flexibility for hours outside the normal schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a supervisor or manager within a service industry operation, with a proven, consistent track record of meeting and exceeding revenue objectives
- Experience analyzing cost and forecast data to align with business objectives, including job costing and operational profit and loss
- Working knowledge of laws governing business and employment in the local area
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable using a tablet, smartphone, and GPS or map navigation
- Neat, clean, professional appearance with excellent interpersonal communication skills, a drive to exceed client expectations, and the ability to thrive in a team environment
- Insurable driving record and clear criminal background as required by state law for home service companies and by company insurance carriers
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
- Must be willing to work hours outside the normal schedule when needed
