Job Summary
HVAC Officer responsible for the maintenance, performance optimization, and regulatory-compliant operation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across a healthcare facility. Responsibilities include routine inspections of HVAC equipment (chillers, boilers, air handlers, ventilation systems), diagnosing malfunctions, maintaining environmental conditions in critical areas (operating rooms, oncology wards, diagnostic labs), developing preventive maintenance schedules, ensuring regulatory compliance (ASHRAE 170, local codes), collaborating with infection prevention teams, and implementing energy-efficient technologies (VRF, smart thermostats) while supporting emergency response and cross-functional coordination. The role requires strong analytical, diagnostic, and collaboration skills, and a commitment to energy efficiency and sustainable building practices within a healthcare setting.
Required Qualifications
- HND/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related field
- Proficiency in using HVAC diagnostic tools, software, and energy management systems
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC operations, maintenance, or engineering, preferably in a healthcare environment
- Demonstrated experience in managing HVAC systems for specialized environments (e.g., operating rooms, laboratories)
- Hands-on experience in energy efficiency projects or green building initiatives
