Job Summary
Maintain, repair, and install heating and air conditioning systems and equipment throughout the district. Diagnose and repair malfunctions in HVAC systems, replace or calibrate controls (thermostats and switches), install new systems, fabricate/assemble duct work and piping, and ensure safe operation of equipment. Perform preventive maintenance, manage inventories, assist energy manager with energy conservation surveys, and respond to emergency calls. Requires ability to read blueprints/schematics, perform calculations, and use hand/power tools. Must hold a TDLR journeyman HVAC Class B license and a valid Texas driver’s license. The role involves extensive manual labor, working in varied environments, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures and district policies.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) journeyman HVAC Class B license
- Clear and valid Texas driver’s license
- Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
- Ability to use hand and power tools
