Job Summary
Install, operate, maintain, and repair all hospital mechanical and HVAC equipment, including control systems for pneumatic and electro-pneumatic setups. Diagnose and fix issues with building environment machinery while adhering to state and local building codes. Work onsite at 789 Central Avenue from Monday through Friday between 11:00 pm and 11:00 am. Lift objects weighing 25 to 100 pounds and make independent decisions regarding job completion. Maintain department supplies and interact tactfully with staff, patients, and visitors.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma Related Field of Study
- HVAC experience 1-2 years
- Hospital mechanic experience 3-5 years
- Knowledge of state and local building codes
- Blueprint reading
- Ability to estimate time and materials needed to complete a job
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing 25 – 100 pounds while climbing, balancing, standing, or crawling
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action in a timely fashion
- Ability to deal tactfully with staff, patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
- Ability to maintain the care and use of supplies and maintain the appearance of the department
- Ability to read, write legibly, speak clearly, and understand the English language
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
