Job Summary
Start, operate, repair, and maintain various heating, air conditioning, and mechanical systems, including air handling and refrigeration equipment. Maintain and repair motor controllers, electrical equipment, and control circuits while installing, repairing, and calibrating pneumatic and electric controls for temperature and humidity regulation. Perform inspections, make repairs on equipment and systems per company practices and regulations, and review operating instructions, diagrams, and building plans. Climbing ladders, working aloft, and lifting items up to 100 lbs as required. Work rotating shifts from 7am to 4pm, 4pm to 12am, and 12am to 7am Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid NY refrigeration license (Q-01)
- Ability to pass, obtain and maintain a current certificate of fitness for fire standpipe, sprinkler, welding, oil burner and air compressor operation
- Universal Technician Certification as designated by EPA regulations-40 CFR Part 82 Subpart H
- Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record
- Must meet safety-related requirements including but not limited to those standards of safety imposed by OSHA, state agencies, manufacturers and/or the company
- Medical evaluation
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation, including, but not limited to, lifting, carrying and maneuvering heavy equipment weighing up to 100 lbs
- Must be available to work scheduled tours designated by the Collective Bargaining Agreement and/or the needs of the business
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as the needs of the business necessitate
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant vocational or technical training
- 3 or more years of relevant work experience
- Recent experience performing maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC equipment
