Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer II on the HVAC team in our Boston office. Responsibilities include assisting the technical development of HVAC systems for large and complex projects in Mission Critical and Commercial sectors; utilizing Revit to produce drawings for ductwork, water side distribution systems and equipment; ensuring tasks are complete and aligned with good engineering practices; researching equipment selections and performing related airflow and water system calculations; applying knowledge of ductwork, piping layouts, and construction documents (CFD modeling a plus); participating in field visits, meeting with clients and vendors; coordinating design aspects across disciplines and collaborating on multi-discipline projects with mechanical, electrical, and others. Essential skills include a BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, 2-3+ years HVAC design experience, proficiency with Revit/BIM, and strong communication and analytical abilities. Background in commercial, mission critical data centers, or hospitality is a plus; LEED accreditation and PE/EIT are a plus. The role supports a hybrid work culture with up to 2 days remote per week and offers compensation in the $80,000 to $110,000 range depending on experience, licensure, and portfolio.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 2 - 3 + years of experience designing HVAC systems
- Working knowledge of Revit / BIM
- Communication, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills
