Job Summary
Johnson Controls HVAC Controls Systems Technician specializing in system commissioning and troubleshooting for building automation. Responsibilities include loading system-level controller software, performing basic commissioning and diagnostics from controllers to end devices (sensors and actuators), completing commissioning documentation, responding to warranty calls, and providing on-site solutions to improve facility efficiency. You will communicate with customers and contractors, calibrate systems using electronic test equipment, and complete administrative tasks (time sheets, expense reports, as-built documentation). The role emphasizes safety, customer service, upselling opportunities, and providing quotes to support recommended improvements. The candidate should have an associate-level credential or equivalent experience, proficiency with HVAC controls software, and the ability to explain technical information to diverse audiences. Required Qualifications
- 2-year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field OR at least 2 years of industry experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical HVAC systems
- PC experience required
- Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people
- Leadership skills to support activities of Mechanics on non-complex Building Automation equipment
- Experience with HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, and site preparation
