Job Summary
HVAC controls service technician responsible for service, repair, design, configuration, and operation of complete HVAC building control systems and low voltage subsystems. Role involves developing software, commissioning, and troubleshooting to ensure proper operation; preparing submittals, drawings, bill of materials, network layouts; coordinating with sales/service/subcontractors; ordering and tracking materials; assisting in site-specific training and commissioning; and providing field change information for as-built drawings. Requires ownership of project progress and safety adherence, ability to create diagrams and sequences of operations, and experience with building automation protocols (e.g., LON, BACnet).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Minimum eight (8) years of experience in construction, service, or HVAC industry
- Demonstrated knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and subsystems
- Experience with integration of low voltage building sub-systems using industry protocols (e.g., LON, BACnet)
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Advanced computer skills, including CAD/drafting tools
