Job Summary
Maintain proper steam pressures, compressed air levels, and water treatment systems while monitoring chilled water, refrigeration, and HVAC equipment. Install, repair, and upgrade utilities including heating, air conditioning, and curing room systems per blueprints and manufacturer specs. Perform preventive maintenance, inspect for leaks, test circuits, and fabricate ductwork or chassis parts using welding and metal-working tools. Report food safety and quality issues to Plant Management and ensure all systems comply with GMP rules and applicable codes. Work in a busy manufacturing plant environment, lifting up to 50 lbs, and follow PIM Brands standards. Requires a Blue Seal refrigeration license, preferred Blue Seal boiler license, and at least one year of industrial maintenance experience.
Required Qualifications
- Vocational training or on-the-job training in machine operations and metal fabrication
- Must be able to read and follow drawings, blueprints and written specifications
- Blue seal refrigeration license
- Blue seal boiler or higher
- Minimum of 1-year experience as a maintenance mechanic preferably in an industrial environment
- Competence in machinery repair and installation
- Competence in pumps, mixers and mechanical equipment
- Competence in General Electric work
- Competence in Plumbing, Pipefitting and welding
- Competence in general maintenance, such as lubrication, painting and fabrication of equipment
- Ability to read, speak, and write English
- Ability to work additional hours and/or shifts as needed
- Lifting and moving of objects weighing at least 50 lbs
- Ability to work at all levels and positions, overhead, below ground etc. In different environments; inside, outside on the roof, in small or controlled areas, use of ladders, manlifts, forklift and other hand and powered equipment
- Ability to work in a noisy, active environment with objects on the floor, constant movement and traffic flow of motorized equipment
- Willingness to wear hair net, beard net, assigned work uniform, protective eye wear and gloves as GMP required apparel
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Math and computer skills
- Blue seal boiler or higher (preferred over required status in text)
