Job Summary
Install, overhaul, and troubleshoot heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment while repairing components, valves, and piping. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, monitor facility systems, and conduct walkthroughs to ensure uptime and safety objectives. Respond to routine and on-demand service requests, assist with facility projects, and maintain accurate tool inventory. Comply with all environmental, health, safety, and fire protection regulations. Submit expenditures timely and provide recommendations for facility enhancements. Requires a valid HVAC Certificate of Qualification, five years of licensed experience, and willingness to work shifts and on-call rotations.
Required Qualifications
- College Diploma/Certification
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a licensed HVAC/Refrigeration Technician
- Strong ability to adhere and to properly execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance
- Ability to maintain building mechanical and other system troubleshooting and resolution skills
- Current knowledge of fire, life, safety and building codes and standards and ability to research and apply related codes and standards
- Strong environmental, health and safety mindset
- Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency
- Effective communication skills
- Mentoring skills
- Ability to work shifts
- Availability for on-call/standby
- Availability for emergency call-outs
- Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment
- Meeting enhanced security clearance requirements
- Valid drivers' license
- Valid HVAC Certificate of Qualification issued by the province in which the work is performed
- Minimum Gasfitter II license
- Gasfitter I license (preferred)
