Job Summary
HVAC and Building Systems Technician Associate responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in school buildings. Assists with installing and maintaining HVAC components, inspects and repairs fans, motors, pumps, filters, and thermostats, and learns to use tools, gauges, and meters to test and adjust equipment. Supports senior technicians with routine maintenance, monitors building systems such as chillers, boilers, and cooling towers, and adheres to safety rules while keeping work areas clean. Records maintenance activities and reports problems to supervisors; performs snow removal and other general maintenance duties as assigned; requires basic mechanical interest, the ability to follow directions, good communication and teamwork skills, and willingness to learn new skills.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- Technical or trade school training in HVAC (preferred but not required).
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record (may be required).
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work indoors or outdoors in various weather.
